We constantly mention how Agropošta syrups go great with certain desserts, and we present you with our favorite today!
Ingredients (for 4 people):
– 4 pears (not too ripe)
– 200 g sugar or honey
– 1 l water
– Spices (eg. a stick of cinnamon or anise, a teaspoon of clove, or ginger, etc.)
– Agropošta sage syrup for the topping
Preparation:
– Combine water, sugar, and selected spices in a pot and let it boil.
– In the meantime, cut the pears in half, remove the seeds, and peel them off.
Put them in the water right away and make sure they are completely submerged, otherwise, the exposed parts will oxidize.
– Cook them for 15 min, until they go soft, but make sure not to overcook them (or they will be mushy)
– Before serving, pour Agropošta sage syrup and sprinkle some powdered cinnamon on top.
– For a more serious dish, you can cook the pears in white or red wine mixed with water 1:1.
